We speak with Jeff Markey, who provides his career journey, starting in operations at Abbott Laboratories, then most recently as VP of Global Supply Chain Transformation for The Coca-Cola Company. Jeff’s passion for working on end-to-end process and system transformation provided him with a career path he didn’t originally envision. He had leaders that saw his love of work in facilities who then advised him to take on systems roles with strong IT components. Jeff shares his thoughts about concentrating less on job titles to actually focus on the kinds of things you like to do and don’t like to do to help define your possible career paths. Jeff also provides insights about how to think about and pursue transformation and work with teams and stakeholders to plan, design, and implement systems, including the all-important softer side aspects of clear end-goals, change management, and pursuing a set of early and continually growing wins.
Who is Jeff Markey?
Jeff Markey has a wealth of operations, supply chain, and digital transformation expertise across multiple industries spanning nearly 30 years. Most recently he served as the VP of Global Supply Chain Transformation for The Coca-Cola Company leading an end-to-end process and system transformation in various executive and general management roles.
His prior experience included engineering and manufacturing of rapid test kits as a part of the Diagnostics Division of Abbott Laboratories. Jeff is passionate about supply chain and technology. He has developed best-in-class transformation solutions focused on problem solving and value-based decisioning and is widely recognized as an exceptional servant leader.
Jeff has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Tech. Additionally, he attended the Executive Education Program at Harvard Business School. He enjoys running, volunteering, hiking, and family time.
